Ms. Boose's Pre-K Class

Welcome to Pre-K!

It's going to "bee" a great year!

What’s the Buzz in Pre-K

Week of April 9th- April 13th

Our themes for this week were reduce, reuse, recycle, and rain.

English Language Arts

Our Read-Alouds this week were:

Recycle: A Handbook for Kids by Gail Gibbons

The Tiny Seed by Eric Carle

Grow Flower, Grow!  by Lisa Bruce

Earth Day, Birthday!  by Maureen Wright

The Earth Book by Todd Parr

Pete the Cat and the Bedtime Blues by Kimberly and James Dean

Llama Llama Time to Share by Anna Dewdney

Our letter this week was the letter R.

We filled in the dots for the letter R with a do-a-dot marker and identified that red starts with R.

We traced both uppercase and lowercase R with correct letter formation on a worksheet.

We traced the words for the parts of a flower and cut them out, then glued them down to our flowers.

Mathematics

We rolled the dice, then added the dots together and colored in the recycling bin that has the correct corresponding sum on it on a worksheet.

Fine Motor/Arts

We made the earth by making a handprint with blue paint and a handprint with green paint on a circle template.

We made a flower by gluing down a cupcake cup, seeds, and pipe cleaners onto construction paper, then drawing the stem and leaves with a green crayon.

We drew the things that a flower needs to grow on a worksheet.

We cut out raindrops and painted them with blue paint using bubble wrap.

Religion

We are reviewing the Hail Mary.

We are learning a song for the May Crowning ceremony.

We discussed that Mary is very special and is honored in the May Crowning ceremony.

Have a good weekend!
